Meet the Orthodontist

Dr. Magdalena Carolan

Dr. Carolan was always fascinated by natural sciences and medicine. She was inspired by her family dentist to pursue a career in the dental field. She completed her bachelor’s in biology at Queens College, City University of New York. Following this, Dr. Carolan obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry. She also has a General Practice Dentistry Residency Certificate from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and an Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics Residency Certificate from St. Barnabas Hospital.

Dr. Carolan enjoys helping each of her patients reveal their best smiles through orthodontic treatment. She says the most rewarding part of her profession is being able to improve a patient’s self-esteem and confidence by maximizing their smile’s natural potential.

She is a member of the American Board of Orthodontists and also has Invisalign and wrinkle-reduction certifications.

Dr. Carolan finds being an orthodontist a stimulating career that allows for great work-life balance and professional and personal fulfillment. She is mom to two children, Jack and Liv, and she has nine pets! As a result, her hobbies consist mostly of cleaning, feeding, and taking care of everyone—not to mention doing lots of laundry! She also enjoys reading and jogging.
